Just wanted to give an update on some things. I’m taking a break from the 3-4 Defense and writing a post on organizing your coaching office. It has always baffled me how messy we can be in our offices, yet demand such rigid attention to detail from our players. Anyway, in the mean time, I wanted to bring up some good reading I’ve gotten in to. The book is The Genius: How Bill Walsh Reinvented Football and Created an NFL Dynasty, by David Harris.Don’t know how I missed this one. I’m only 100 pages in, Walsh has yet to have a winning season with the 49ers, and I’ve already gotten some great stuff. It isn’t X’s and O’s stuff, but some good quotes and funny stuff. And a lot on how Bill Walsh operated as a man. Here are a couple of things that stood out:
