    Joe, I tried to download the changing defense stuff, but it would not allow me to do so. I am d.c. at a Middle School in Birmingham, Alabama. Usually less talent than our comp. We have been running 4 -3 with a cover 3 majority. We face lots of spread looks, but mostly see runs out of them. Would love to get your thoughts on changes and what I need to do different to order the changing defense. Thanks..Scott

    Scott, not trying to be pushy, but helpful… I was the dc at a junior high two years ago, and the biggest improvement we made was when we switched from a 4-3 to a 3-3 stack. Our d line was so pitiful it didn’t make a difference whether we had 3 or 4 guys down, then we played our strong safety and nickel as linebackers, essentially a 3-4 olb, 1×1 off the de. As long as you have three big kids who can grab on to an o lineman and stay there, you should see vast improvement, mostly because it’s not a defense many kids have ever seen and they won’t know how to block it.
