Here’s a picture of my Linebacker group with me, following the Graphic Edge Bowl this past weekend. I’m really proud of what these guys did this year, and you can see there’s a little hardware down there too. We won the game 64-7 over Central Lakes-Brainerd.

I’m going to go on a tangent that is only loosely related to defensive football. And its basically this: How great is high school football? After working in the college ranks for the last few months, I have to say that both sides have their advantages from a coaching standpoint. But in terms of atmosphere, I don’t think you can touch a Friday night in the Fall.Iowa is already into the first round of the State Playoffs this week. Since part of my job is recruiting, I’ve been to a high school football game whenever possible (only missing 2 weeks that we were on the road overnight). I’ve seen about 10 different schools, with all of their unique traditions and quirks, and talked to who knows how many different kids that just love to play football.
