American Football Monthly

I assume that most people know that there is only one magazine out there for football coaches, but if not I wanted to talk about it.

I have added American Football Monthly as an affiliate for The Football-Defense Report (which means I get money for you buying a subscription from them).

To be honest, at the moment I don’t have a subscription. I used to, but then my job got a subscription – and then my next job had a subscription. So since I’ve been looking for work, I don’t have one. But it says something that every job I’ve had lately had a subscription there.Subscribe to American Football Monthly magazineThere’s a ton of information available on the internet. You may find that its enough for you. I’m not going to tell you that AFM will answer all of your problems, by any means.

Sometimes it leaves holes and questions to be asked (but there are enough forums and blogs out there to fill in!). AFM is also going to lean towards whatever is selling the most videos at that time. However, that’s usually whatever us coaches are most interested in at the time.

Overall it is a great magazine, with interesting articles that can help you with new ideas. You can also bet that at least one of your opponents is going to use one of the ideas from the last 12 months.

American Football Monthly has been a great resource on cutting-edge football. It was the first place I learned about the Pistol Offense and the A-11. It was also where I learned about the 3-5-3 Defense, as they were the one’s publishing articles from Georgia Military College in the early 2000′s.

You can get information on all sorts of offenses and defenses there, from a huge range of coaches. You can also learn from the archives that are available online at AmericanFootballMonthly.com.
